EMERGENCY RELIEF ORGANISATIONS (from info provided by Dept. Communities 9/12/2008) (Note that some of these organisations may require a referral from Centalink. Either the client can enquire directly if a referral is required or we can for them. Also some of the organisations may only assist a certain population of needy people eg prisoners.)
What is Emergency Relief
Where community organisations offer material and financial aid to individuals and families in the form of cash, cheques, food vouchers, clothing, furniture, accommodation vouchers, payment of electricity, gas and phone bills, housing costs, public transport fares and medical and educational expenses.
